Maybe Zippy’s Chili?

Here is a recipe for Zippy’s chili that includes peanut butter and Portuguese sausage:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Portuguese sausage, sliced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
- Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving (optional)
- Chopped green onions, for serving (optional)
- Sour cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the Portuguese sausage over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, basil, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, pinto beans, and water.
- Stir in the creamy peanut butter until fully incorporated.
- Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 30-45 minutes, until the flavors have melded together.
- Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and a dollop of sour cream, if desired.
